2018 - A Look Back

Mark Federighi Photography Portland wedding photographer0017.JPG

Like most years, 2018 had its share of highs & lows. The highs were pretty great though. One of the highlights of my year was an amazing trip to Northern Italy with my beautiful wife. We love our daughter endlessly, but parenting is hard & it’s great find some time for ourselves… And doing so in Italy ain’t too shabby.

Weddings & other photography work took me to San Francisco, Oakland, Chicago, Michigan & of course, Portland & other Oregon locations. I also got back into doing family sessions, which I hadn’t done much of in awhile. As always, I’m forever grateful & honored that my wonderful clients chose me to document their big life moments.

I’m also a work-from-home dad & I try to document some adventures with our daughter each year.

I’m already excited for what 2019 has in store & I still have available dates. So, feel free to get in touch if you’re engaged, need family photos or for other photography needs. I will travel anywhere for weddings & elopements.

Thanks & have a great 2019!

p.s. In a former life, I led a band. life gets in the way & I hadn’t completed a new song in a couple of years, so I promised myself I would in 2018. I finished the song below, just under the wire & I thought I’d include it here, if you feel like having a listen while you scroll.

Italia

Ahh... Italia.

It's been too many years since I've been back to the land of my ancestry. This trip was wonderful, though too short. My wife & I spent a week in Northern Italy (Veneto, Trentino Alto-Adige & Lombardy regions) with stops in Venice, Murano, Verona, the Valpolicella wine region, Lago di Garda (Lake Garda) & Treviso. Amongst the places we stayed included lovely Airbnb lodgings in the most charming & picturesque little towns of San Pietro in Cariano & Pregasina. It was the Italy of our dreams.

The photos just scratch the surface & honestly can't properly capture the old world beauty & allure of Italy. And there were many moments & vistas I had to just capture in my minds eye.

I said this in my last post, but I'll say it again: if anyone wants me to document their wedding or elopement in Italy, please get in touch.

Ti amo Italia.

Bellissima in Pregasina, Lake Garda, Italy

I take a lot of quick portraits of my wife while we travel, but this time I did a mini-portrait session with her. We were staying at the loveliest B&B in an incredibly picturesque mountainside town in Lake Garda, Italy named Pregasina. They had a little property a short hike further up from the B&B where we had watched the sunset the night before, so we had to return for session on our 2nd night there.

Beauty on beauty.

If anyone wanted to have me shoot their wedding or elopement in Italy, that would be swell. Grazie mille.
